FAQ’s

1.       How long will they last?

Your extensions should last at least 1 year with proper care (see care instructions for details)

2.       Will I be able to put it on myself?

Extend-it extensions uses the simplest do-it-yourself system so that you can wear and remove as you please.

3.       How does it go on? How do I put it on?

There are 7 pieces in a set

Two Large pieces with 3 clips on each for the back of the head

Four medium pieces with 2 clips on each for the sides of the head

One tester piece that can be worn anywhere

Note: This is a basic guideline that can be varied depending on the hair cut or hair style.

Tip: As long as all clips are placed evenly and not lopsided or with gaps showing, the different ways to place the extensions are endless.

4.       Will they fall out? How secure are the clips?

We use premium quality clips made of stainless steel that will not rust, break, or weaken with wear. The clips snap shut onto the hair without any damage.  They hold tight and secure on even the finest hair. 

5.       How do I take care of the extensions?  What do I use to wash them?

Extend-it extensions are made of 100% Premium quality Remy Cuticle human hair, the best on the market for extensions. Although the hair is premium quality, hair is still a delicate item and needs to be cared for properly.

1.       Always brush hair free of knots to prevent tangles from building up and getting worse.

A Detangling spray can be used to help rid the extensions from knots without breakage.

2.       Store extensions in an appropriate place away from objects that can get caught and tangled in the extensions.  Suggestion: store extensions in the package it came in.

3.       The extensions are made of 100% human hair so it can be treated just like your own including using products such as hair spray, mousse, hot tools etc. BUT just like your own hair, it can be worn down with too much chemicals or heat. Tip: The less you do to the extensions with adding chemicals or heat, the better and longer your extensions will last.

4.       Wash only when needed. Extensions do not catch on the natural oils like your hair does so it does not have to be washed as often. Unless there is built on product that needs to be removed. Washing causes dryness with real hair and extension hair so avoid excessive and unnecessary washing.

6.       Are there any special products that we have to use?

The best products to use on your extensions are salon quality products. These products have less chemicals and leave less residue on the hair.

7.       What type of hair is used?  Where does the hair come from?

We use 100% Remy cuticle human hair extensions.   Our hair is 50% Asian hair and 50% Indian hair.  This gives Extend-it hair the most versatility, and can be styled to blend with almost anyone’s hair.

8.       Will it work on African hair?

The extensions will work on most types of hair; it will also work on African hair if it is relaxed.

9.       Can I add heat to it? Curl? Blow-dry?

Absolutely! Extend-it is made of 100% Premium quality real human hair. You can do pretty much anything to the extensions as you would to your own hair. A flat iron is a great tool for styling your extensions.

10.   Can it be cut?

Yes you can cut the extensions shorter in length.  You can cut it yourself or bring it a hair stylist at a salon.  We recommend using a hair razor for best results.

11.   Can I wear the hair extensions in an up-do?

Yes. Our extensions have many size pieces.  This allows for more versatility with styling such as up-do’s. Just angle the extension piece with the hair going the same direction as your own hair and clip it on.

12.   Can I color them?

We do not recommend coloring the extensions.  Each set comes with a tester piece for experimenting with coloring. Most extensions start off dark and have to go through a coloring process. Extend-it extensions go through a slower coloring process while using lesser harsh chemicals unlike other hair extension companies therefore the color changes may vary when adding salon or box colors. Always use the tester piece before making any permanent changes to your extensions. The tester piece comes with a clip so it can be worn if it is not being used for testing.

13.   How many sets do I need?

Generally one set is enough for one person. However, if the hair is above shoulder length or very thick and blunt then a second set may be required.  

14.   Is my hair too short?

As long as the hair is at least one inch long, enough length for the clip to hold onto, then extensions can be worn.

15.   Can I tease/back comb it?

There is no need to back comb your hair in order for the extensions to hold in place. But it can be back combed for styling purposes. Just make sure to use a detangling spray when removing the knots.

16.   Can I wear it to sleep?

The extensions are so comfortable that you may even forget that you are wearing them! Sleeping in the extensions is definitely possible but it is not recommended due to the possibility of tangling.

17.   Can I wear it swimming?

Swimming in the extensions is definitely possible but it is not recommended due to the possibility of tangling.

18.   Can you wear it dancing?

The clips used on these extensions hold so securely you do not need to worry about them slipping or falling out. Dance your heart away!

19.   Can I wear it if my hair is very thin?

The clips used on Extend-it extensions are great for all types of hair, even if you have very fine hair. The extensions are very discreet and the clips do not peek out past the extension weft unlike other extension brands.

21.   Is it safe for my hair vs. other methods?

Clip on extensions is the safest method amongst the rest. But not all clip ons are safe and healthy for the hair. Extend-it extensions uses pressure sensitive clips that have a cushion between the contact area of the clip and the hair. This protects the hair from breaking and any future damage from the root.

22.   Can people tell you are wearing it?

If the extensions are worn and placed well it is undetectable. The extensions flow just like natural hair. TIP: always comb and blend in your extensions with your own hair.

23.   How will I know what color to get?
